Listen to What Our Paddlers Have to Say!

If you would like your comments listed on this page, please include permission with your Email or letter

Hi everyone.

I would just like to tell you how happy I am with my new Viper 11.  I purchased this boat from you guys about a month ago, and have paddled it a few time since.  I just got back from paddling the Lower Yough and the boat felt great.  It was very maneuverable, and easy to roll, and surfing was a blast.  One of the raft guides was offering to buy my boat, but I was not willing to sell it, and I got comments on my boat from other paddlers too.

The outfitting is great, it really keeps you in the boat when you want to, and when you don't want to stay in it, you can just get right out.  So thank you to Craig, who helped me pick out my boat, and to everyone else who made this boat.

Chris

In her email confirming her order for a new Solo 13, this lady added:

My 1978 $400 green Mohawk canoe has been a faithful companion on many whitewater rivers in Georgia, North Carolina and Tennessee, the Everglades 100-mile Wilderness Waterway and for canoe camping on rivers in the South East. She is still going strong!

Hi, Mohawk Folks,

Two years ago I bought a Solo 14.  Needless to say the buying and delivery experience could not have been better.  Unfortunately, my grandson took over the Mohawk as soon as he saw it.  I ended up buying a discounted Wenonah so I'd have something to paddle.  I've got to say that your boat is the equal of the more expensive Wenonah in every respect.  I still "steal" it from my grandson when he is away.  It is a great boat for the price.  I especially like it for down river trips where I have to do some quick maneuvering.  It is very responsive yet stable when avoiding rocks or finding the chute over a ledge.  Keep up the good work!

Tom Burkett, Herndon, Virginia

These photos speak for themsleves!  WHAT FUN, and all because of a stable canoe. I had never paddled a canoe in my life and after four months,  I made it down the Nantahala Falls.  Thank you Mohawk, for making such a good canoe

To the Mohawk tribe

I ordered my Shaman on Tuesday and got it on Friday...and that's with full outfitting! I took it on my favorite river which has 3 miles of good class III and about 4 miles of flat-water at the end of the run. I'm amazed how well this boat performs. This is my first whitewater play boat, and I've been making this run in a very stable 16 foot boat, so I was sure that I would swim for a while until I got used to it. I only swam once, and that was from poor decision making and not boat instability. This boat felt incredibly stable on falls and in chutes and of course was very maneuverable. Also, I fell easily into a very comfortable rhythm on the flat-water portion. I love this boat.

Thanks!

Jim, Cartersville, GA

Just thought I would drop you a line and let you know how much I like my new canoe, the Probe 12II. The outfitting is second to none, the fit and finish is great, a quality product throughout at a great price. Even the packing of the boat was impressive. Mohawk is tops in my book.  Thank you,

Earl Summerlin

Hello Mohawk

I have recently purchased the XL 15, After some lengthy discussions and great advice.  I wanted more of a rapid runner , but with the capability of overnighter trips and some flat water paddling.  Craig was exceptionally helpful even customizing my boat by narrowing it.  The week I got it I spent three days and two nights on the upper James River in Virginia .  The boat was awesome.  The "kayak" paddle helped significantly in the tracking of the boat as did the seat placement and narrowing.  You all would have laughed when I first started paddling though.  After years with a Discovery 17 I immediately tipped over in the XL when I launched  and spent several hours adjusting to the extreme maneuverability.

I am a 'large paddler', 6'3, 340lbs and I found this boat perfect as a solo.   It handled class twos with three days of gear and my young son.  I was amazed when I took some drops and waves that had swamped me in My discovery the week before.  I went through barely getting wet.  My second trip was even more eye opening.  I went four days three nights on the same river this time with my buddies in kayaks, and me solo in the XL 15. I was able to paddle with the Kayaks on flat water and amazed them all in the class 2 and 3.  They were all jealous of the freedom of the open boat and for once I felt my size was not a limiting factor.    I am looking forward to buying another boat from Mohawk.  Shipping was a breeze and the boat was all I had hoped for.

Very satisfied customer

The folks at Mohawk,

Just finally got around t writing you - sorry it took so long!  Wanted to say THANK YOU!! I appreciate so much the almost hour of time Craig took on the phone with my husband and I when placing the order for my canoe.    It was an early Christmas gift, and my husband wanted to surprise me with it, but I'm glad he included me when it came to ordering it.  Craig was helpful in answering questions on how to outfit it with my short height and size.  I did end up adding back in the inch or so that was cut off the saddle.

The surprise was still there though - when we thought it wouldn't arrive until the Wednesday or Thursday ( we ordered it on Friday) and it was here on Tuesday!!!  My husband didn't spoil the surprise, and arranged to pick it up and have it at the house when I got off of work. I had it on Clear Creek - south of Houston -  a week later, and it handled so well for me.  The shorter size of the Probe 12 II  with my short reach was perfect.  I even let my 14 year old daughter try it out when we stopped for lunch and one day I'm sure I'll be getting one for her as well.

I took it for a run down the San Marcos river on a cold weekend in early December with a group of friends.  (see attached photo)  It was my best run ever down the river!  So easy to handle, and so much fun to play in.  I was catching eddies, and going up some of small rapids to play easily. What a dream!!

Just wanted to thank you all again!  I'm loving it!!!  Can't wait to go again in just two weeks, (been counting down since early December!)

Katie Hammons, Richmond, TX

Dear Friends at Mohawk,

It's been about 8 years since I purchased my Nova 17 from you, and it's still going strong. It paddles like a dream, even solo, and my favorite feature (other than the tough Royalex hull) has always been the comfy ash and web seats. It's a class act, and I'm an extremely happy customer....thank you!

David Smith, Tulsa, OK

Hello Mohawk Canoes,

I just had to write to tell you how pleased I am with my new Odyssey 14. I have two tandem canoes, which I can paddle alone, but had wanted a true solo boat for years. After much researching of information, as well as my pocketbook, I decided on the Mohawk Odyssey 14.

I purchased it last fall, (shipping process was surprisingly easy) and was only able to take it out a few times before our very long, rough winter hit. This past weekend, with warm spring time temperatures and good water levels, I entered a downriver race with my Odyssey. It was my first canoe race, although I have paddled Class II whitewater, with a companion in my other tandem boat.

Arriving at the starting area, with the Mohawk on top, I had many veteran racers admire my boat. "Nice boat!"... "I really like the Mohawk!" ... "I paddled one yesterday, and I loved it!" (This is in New England, mind you.) Instead of feeling intimidated, I felt more confident---apparently, Mohawk canoes have a good reputation with the river racers. This race was on a small, twisty river, with pushy Class I rapids. I was VERY pleased with my ability to turn this boat. I raced in the OC-2 category, since the novice division did not have an OC-1, and I still managed to beat some tandem boats, as well as a male solo racer in a Wenonah.  Thank you for making such a good boat at such a reasonable price.

Sincerely,

Emily Huntington, Springfield, MA

Just bought a canoe from you and everything went great. Good doing business with ya! The trucking company was very friendly and also helped load it (that was nice). Just thought I'd send ya a thank you for everything going so smooth.

Bob, Cincinnati, OH

Hey you all at Mohawk!

I just wanted you to know that my husband and I both have Solo 13 canoes and love them! We recently paddled the first 200 miles of the Mississippi River in them (along with 115 lbs. of gear) starting at Lake IItasca in Minnesota. We sure enjoyed our trip.....we feel our boats made the trip a success. We plan to do the whole river (Mississippi) eventually as vacation time permits. We run local creeks with them when they flood....These boats are great! They've taken a licken and kept on ticken!!! Thanks.

Marilyn Thielmann

Couldn't be more pleased with the Mohawk (Sport) canoe that I purchased. I was concerned about buying this canoe sight-unseen. Just being able to reach out and touch a real canoe in the showroom makes a difference.

However, the advice I got from Craig and others made all the difference. The shipping company, Averitt, was also very helpful too. They were open 24/7 for pick-up and they unpacked and helped me load it. The man had even fished the Clinch River, which is where I plan on putting 100,000 river miles on the Mohawk Sport.

The canoe is perfect: it's the exact color I wanted, its light so I can load it myself, and it's extremely maneuverable. I floated the Clinch last week. Early morning mist was still rising from the cold water released from Norris dam. It just looked like magic. The blue sky and billowing clouds reflected in the water as a mirror image. The water was perfectly clear. The canoe was extremely stable as a fly casting platform. What can I say, it was a great day. It must be great to be a company that makes dreams come true! Thanks!

Sharon

The canoe was in great shape and it made it here in two days! The freight cost was right on the money and the packing job withstood a couple of beats, but didn't break though both layers of cardboard. I paddled it the next day and it was well worth the upgrade to a Solo 14. I like the new features you have added to your canoes. Like the molded deck, seat design and the thwart, I think the new style of thwart was a great addition. And for those who might think red is too much, they don't know what they are missing, my red canoe is by far the sharpest canoe I have seen on the water.

Between a friend of mine and I we now have three Mohawk solo canoes and one Nova 16. I recommend your canoes to anyone that asks. I am very happy with your product, and keep up the good work.

Ralph Alexander Jr., Knoxville, TN

Just wanted to drop a line and tell you all how much I've enjoyed my new Odyssey 14. It got here in just two days, I couldn't believe it was so fast! I had the entire next week off and paddled almost every day. I was very impressed with the boats stability and handling. I ran some mild whitewater and did a lot of fishing. You all make a great boat and sell it at an even better price! I have recommended your boats to all of my friends. Thanks,

Rob Blair, Lexington, KY

Greetings,

Please congratulate your employees on a fine product. When I initially bought my Nova 17 I was looking for a good all purpose canoe for tripping, hunting, fishing and general paddling canoe (solo and with two people). I compared every manufacturer and every material I could find. Eventually I chose the Nova 17 based on material, construction and price. The hardest part was convincing myself to buy the canoe without being able to see or touch one. After comparing three or four brands of Royalex canoes, I decided that most seemed similar so the Nova 17 should be a safe buy and save me some money. I was right!

I have been extremely happy with my Nova 17 since the day it arrived. My canoe is now about four years old. It has been a hard working canoe. It has performed flawlessly through several Boundary Waters adventures, duck hunting, fishing, camping, river trips and general paddling fun. Unlike a more expensive Wenonah I occasionally borrowed before I had my Mohawk, the Nova can be turned around and paddled solo which is easily it's most versatile feature.

The fit and finish are excellent and have stood up to a hard four years of use (ok... abuse). The hull design handles a full load of gear, two people and rolling white caps with no problem. I was a little concerned about Royalite vs. Royalex, but the material has performed extremely well whether it is getting bounced onto a rocky shore in the BWCA , grinding over a gravel bar in a tiny stream or skidding to a stop on a submerged rock in a river. There are many battle scars on my canoe, but I suspect I'll get worn out before it does.

I will be using my Nova for a river race this weekend. The next weekend is the opening day of fishing season and my Nova will be my home for most of the weekend. Then it gets two weeks off before it heads to the Sylvania Wilderness Area in Michigan for a canoe camping trip. Two weeks later is a class II and III river trip. Thanks for building a spectacular all purpose canoe that I can rely on and has really earned its stripes.

Dwayne Parkinson, Wisconsin

Dear Craig and Mohawk,

I just returned from paddling in the South East for two weeks, and I wanted to tell how much I love my new Rodeo. That boat rocks! Even the kayaker's were giving me compliments. Your outfitting is one of the best outfittings I've seen. I always felt bomber. I also want to thank you for how easy it is to buy a boat from you. Everything from calling you and talking about boats and outfitting to picking my boat up at the shipping terminal was really easy. Thanks again for the fast and friendly service. I can't wait to buy another boat from you. Thanks again

Dick Chasse

To Craig and all the folks at Mohawk,

My brother and I picked up our Probe 12 at the freight yard and took it straight to the river. That was back in late February and now in early April that boat has been paddled 12 days already. The construction and finish of the boat are first rate. Surfing is a dream, and side surfing is just too easy. Now I wonder why we waited so long before buying a boat from Mohawk. As long as we open boat, you will get business from us.

By the way, I was able to roll the boat 2 times the first day. That says a lot about a canoe when its loaded with 210lbs. of middle-aged human.
One last thing about your products- your Mohawk canoe paddles are the best. I have and use several brands of paddles including Perception, Carlisle, and Mohawk. Without question the Mohawk paddles are the strongest, most durable, and most reasonably priced paddles that I have ever used. Thanks. And to all the fine people at Mohawk, thanks for great service and quick shipment of our boat.

Sincerely,

Robert Gregory, Benton, AR

I wanted to drop you a line to let you know how much I enjoy the Odyssey 15 I purchased last summer. I have gotten much use out of it and continue to get on the river even in this cold weather in the pursuit of Walleye, deer and ducks. I so enjoy the boat I recommend you guys to all I know interested in a new boat. Keep up the good work!

David, Piedmont, Missouri

Hey Craig,

Just wanted to let you know that my teal Nova 16 got here successfully for Christmas (as did the paddles). Thanks for your help in expediting the order.
Just as a FYI, the service and assistance I got from Roadway Express at their Brockton, MA. terminal was **excellent**. Actually, that doesn't quite convey how good they were. I would never have expected such courteous individual service from a shipping company. Thanks for making such a good selection of carrier.

Regards,

Wayne F. Tackabury, West Tisbury, MA

I spent several months researching the purchase of my first ( and quite possibly my last) canoe. After considering some of the "big names" like Old Town, Wenonah and Mad River, I finally settled on a Mohawk canoe and the Nova 16. Although price was certainly a factor. I was impressed with the customer service reps at Mohawk I spoke with on several occasions. They were pleasant and knowledgeable. Most of all I was impressed with the quality and maneuverability of the canoe I purchased. I spent most of last summer paddling it in small lakes and rivers and couldn't believe how easily it handled, especially with a novice at the helm. It has proven to be versatile for recreational paddling, fishing, and family outings with my wife and two children. Several friends with more canoe experience than myself were totally impressed after using it for several fishing expeditions. Thanks for a great product and keep up the good work.

Sincerely,

Dave Peluso, Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania

I picked up my Solo 13 yesterday. If you want an endorsement, feel free to share my words of praise however you see fit. From start to finish my interaction with Mohawk has been nothing short of delightful. I've been intrigued by your ads for years, but had never seen one of your canoes in real life. After visiting your factory I came away convinced that Mohawk has friendly, knowledgeable people. Your manufacturing environment is first-rate--clean, well organized, and very efficient. Most important though, is your obvious commitment to quality.

After visiting your facilities, I spent quite a bit of time in one of my friend's Solo 13's. This hands-on evaluation convinced me the Solo 13 really was the boat I needed for river use. Neat little boat that handles wonderfully and provides a lot of bang for the buck.

I e-mailed you my order on Thursday, the boat arrived here (1600 mi. away) Monday. That's service. And the canoe was packed so well that I believe it would have taken a troop of gorillas to damage it.

This is great work from start to finish, I can see no reason ever to buy a Royalex (or Royalite) canoe from any other source. I'm passing that word along to everyone I talk canoes with.

Douglas M. Lidster, Adel, IA

To all of you at Mohawk,

I just wanted to give an update on my Probe 12 II. I have taken it on the Nantahala River (swam the first day, but aced it the second day), Amicalola Creek. Chattahoochee River (numerous times), and Chestnatee River (did the 8' falls at the copper mine!) My Probe has been the greatest boat that I could have ever wanted. It does everything sooooo well. You have a lifelong customer. Thanks you very much.

Sean McKinnon, Dallas GA

To my friends at Mohawk Canoes:

We received our new Nova 17 canoe just a couple weeks ago. The delivery time was only a week the whole way from your place in Florida to us here in Montana. It arrived in perfect condition with shipping charges right at what you had estimated, reflecting your good deal relationship with the shipper. We were immediately impressed with the stability and good glide of the boat. I have several canoes and would rank yours as the best value in the industry. Other name brand canoes in this area cost several hundred dollars more.

We just got back from a couple day trip into Shoshoe Lake in Yellowstone Park. This trip requires crossing Lewis Lake and traversing a long channel to Shoshone Lake, the largest back country lake in the country. The Nova handled the long flat water trip with ease and the short fast water section with confidence.

Dave Lewis, West Yellowstone, MT

Craig,

Jeff here from (near Asheville N.C.). I am writing to thank Mohawk  and you for my Probe 12! The outfitting takes the prize...I rolled the canoe the second trip out. everything about the canoe turned out just right for me! Hope to see you in October on the Nanty.......thanks

Jeff Poe

The crew at Mohawk,

Just picked up my Solo 13...what a delightful little boat. I thought I'd be prejudiced by my Bell canoe but this is truly a fun nicely crafted and designed canoe. Thank you for your prompt service.

Michael Bolton, Michigan

Hi,

I just received my order of your bent shaft paddles. I am very impressed with the workmanship and design features. They are much better built than I expected for such a good price. Kudos to you, and thanks! I look forward to getting them in the water soon. Take Care!

Steven Detwiler, California

Hi Mohawk folks,

My Mohawk Solo14 arrived yesterday and just want to say thanks for your help. (I was the one whose parents stopped in from Maine.) Of course, I headed for the closest pond to try it out and I love it! I was a little concerned about the length - Solo14 vs. Solo13 - because I'm a small paddler (5'2" 110lbs). No problem though. It paddles and maneuvers like a charm. I'm very pleased. I think it will be great as a freestyle boat, plus it should be able to handle overnight trips with mild whitewater... a very versatile boat and just what I was looking for to add to my "flotilla" (this boat makes 6 total...3 of which are Mohawks).

Thanks again Mohawk folks!

Melissa Howes (Registered Maine Guide & avid canoester)

A follow up letter from Melissa,

Hi Mohawk,

Just thought I'd send along a couple pictures of me in my Mohawk boats. You are welcome to use either/both of these on your paddling page. I absolutely LOVE the solo14 for flatwater paddling...and it has handled class II whitewater just fine also! And I finally upgraded from my old Mohawk Rogue to the Probe12 this spring. What a great boat the Probe12 is! Spins on a dime...surfs great...ferries well...and a drier boat than the Rogue. I get LOTS of compliments on the boat from paddlers I meet on the river, and LOTS of people admiring it.

Melissa Howes (Registered Maine Guide & avid canoester)

We received the PFD that you exchanged for us, and it fits perfectly! I just wanted to let you know how much we appreciate your attention to detail in insuring a good fit. We also LOVE our canoe! It handles so well and it is so lightweight and easy to load/unload. I would recommend a Mohawk Canoe over an xxxx any day!

Dottie Landry, Nashville, TN

HEY MOHAWK,

I just got back from the BWCA, and the canoe you all sent me, NOVA 17, did exceptionally well. We were in the big storm on the 4th, but my canoe had no problems. I tell all my friends about your canoes. Thanks for making such a good product for such an outstandingly low price. As soon as I can afford one, I'm getting one of your solo boats too. Thanks again,

Kenton Dilley, Princeton, WV

When asked if we could use this Email, Kenton replied: "Sure, no problem, you can use my comments and my name. Still lovin' my canoe!”

Dear Mohawk Canoes:

I just wanted to take a minute to let you know how much I have enjoyed ordering a factory-direct canoe from you. Really, it was less trouble than buying one from a shop and certainly faster than ordering one through a shop. I ordered it via mail about 2 weeks ago, and it arrived at the terminal Friday. I picked it up the same day it arrived from American Freightways, who had no problem letting me inspect it. (They even had two guys in case I needed help loading it.) The process was very smooth, and I am looking forward to my first paddle in my new Odyssey tomorrow or the next day. Thanks,

Matt Short, Toledo, Ohio

I am the proud owner of a Probe 12 II. I also bought an XL-13 from you guys. I am extremely happy with my boats, especially my latest acquisition, the 12 II. .....Your drawings on your website areoutstanding!!! They answer all the questions I had about the difference between the Nova 16 and the Intrepid 16. Quite interesting!! take it easy!

Rick , MA
PS: always remember "half the paddle, twice the paddler!!

I want to thank you and the shipping department for the prompt exchange of the seat I was sent rather than the seat back that I had ordered. The turnaround was great and the all was handled in a very professional manner.
My canoe was a joy to receive and the first weekend I paddled in two ponds that I have access. It was sent freight of course but to my surprise the company used had pickup hours until 10 PM. If this was not on purpose it should be in the future.
Once again it is a pleasure to do business with a company that appears to be very customer oriented. I will recommend (and have) to anyone in the market for a canoe or any of your other products.

Fred Hornick, Columbia, SC

Mohawk:

I picked up my new canoe this morning. Just thought I'd let you know it arrived on time, in good shape, and Roadway charged exactly what was on the invoice I received from you. I can't wait to try it out.

Stewart Higgins, Washington

Hello Mohawks,

I bought a Nova 16 several months ago and wanted you to know that it has been terrific! Your company shipped my canoe (with added seat) promptly and efficiently. It has been a great canoes and has seen plenty of action this summer in numerous California lakes, rivers and bays. Way to go.

Steve Harrell, California

Steve Harrell's follow up 2 months later....
Hello all,
I just wanted everyone responsible for my Nova 16 to know what a great canoe you built ,sold and shipped to me last May! From the order (added seat, portage strap, paddle, ect.) to the shipping there was not one problem, and I have enjoyed my boat almost every week since on a variety of lake, river and bay settings. With any luck I will help you sell a bunch more! Thanks for doing it right,

Steve Harrell , California

hello ,

I wish to tell you the canoe arrived safely.. the trip home was stressful enough with 30mph winds but we got through it.... me and my 13 yr. old son took an immediate trip to lake Jordan here in NC against mighty tough winds and quite a bit of flooding for 3 days and learned the canoe...all I can say is excellent.. thank you.. a very satisfied customer.. I'm even proud to say I've already got my first scratches over with.. again thanks..

David S. Smith N.C.

When asked if we could use his Email as a testimonial he replied:
"Well of course you can, we are still very happy with our canoe, could not have made a better choice".

Hi to all the folks at Mohawk,

.............picked up our new canoe a couple of weeks ago. She, my wife, my son, my daughter, a friend of my daughters, and I have all been out on the canals (inland waterways) and on Biscayne Bay this  weekend. The Nova 16 is a dream to paddle. It slips though the water so easily and responds so nicely that it just "can't be" as stable as it is. Car top carriage is a snap. My son found one-man portage fairly easy too. We'll be on the water more and more.

Thanks for the great canoe at a great price!

Dave, FL

Thank-you for the Email response. I have spoken to you and it was very helpful. The motor Mount is installed!! As always you have exceeded my expectations in customer service!

Steve Smith, Mass.

When asked for permission to print his Email Steve replied:
“Without a doubt!! I am very happy with products and support services!! Why would anyone buy a different canoe? Because they didn't check out Mohawk!!!!”

Good Morning!

I wanted to tell you how happy I am to see the Mohawk Company is still going. My wife purchased a 16-17 " fiberglass canoe 19 years ago from High Trails Canoe Company in Dallas as my wedding gift, (she choose a ring!) That canoe has traveled with us through Texas and Illinois and is still in excellent condition. I have thoroughly enjoyed the times I've spent on the water and wanted to thank you for building such a fine and durable craft.

I don't know if I will outlive this canoe. But if I do I will certainly purchase another Mohawk without hesitation.

Regards,

Gene Garrett

Hi folks there at Mohawk----

I'm sure you saw the sat. may 2, Orlando Sentinel Living Section which featured an article on canoeing . And of course all of us were paddling your Solo 13 and 14's I really love mine, thanks for a great product.

Chuck Jones, Florida

Thank you for your prompt attention to my order and for the refund for overpayment. I've taken my new Odyssey out on the Lehigh River and am very pleased.

Steve Campbell, Emaus PA

Just as you said it would, my new 14' Sport canoe serves well as a solo and a tandem boat. I put two 25lb. weights near the stern seat and paddle from the bow when I go alone, and the Sport handles like a dream. It's also narrow enough at the middle that I can paddle comfortably from both sides. And the bent shaft paddles you sent are superb! Now if only our Texas rivers were a little higher...

Steve Housewright, Canton, TX

Note from Mohawk: Rather than the center seat option, he choose to paddle solo from the bow seat and paddle the canoe in reverse because the canoe is not as wide in that position, and is easier to reach over the gunwales.

While I'm an awful long way from being a major customer of yours , I just wanted to let you know how pleased I am with my initial transaction with Mohawk. I'm not a big fan of aluminum/plastic paddles, but I won't subject my wooden paddles to the river. For years I've used Carlisle paddles for this purpose and hated them. Recently I purchased two of your paddles. What a difference. Of course they're not as nice as wooden paddles. But they take all the abuse the river dishes out and still allow relatively quiet strokes and sliced returns. Good job--And nice, quick, friendly service to boot........BTW, I wish I had known about Mohawk before I bought my xxxxxx xxxxxxxxxx 15. Enough said?

Douglas M. Lidster

I know you guys get a bunch of testimonials about your canoes, but I wanted to add my thoughts... I purchased a Nova 16 and paddle it as well as two touring Kayaks. I recently had the Nova down a river that has a small dam on the side of an island to river right (a farmer built it to catfish on). Normally the water is low and you have to pick up the boat, portage over the top of the wall, and put back in on the other side. At best you can usually just make it over the top of the earthen wall if the water is running fast. Due to spring rains the water was over the top and was about a class II rapid with some holes and uneven spots around rocks just past the wall.

We ran the Nova over it and were amazed that it handled the rapids as smoothly as it did. I had more problems in my kayak than we had in the canoe! The bow stayed high, and the boat didn't even consider leaning or pitching in the rough spots... I also take my Lab Retriever in it and with a small amount of bracing, it is a very stable and responsive boat and Hailey enjoys a day out on the water with Dad. Combined with the glide path and tracking, I have found it to be a great bargain over the typical in-store "overpriced" boats, and hope to have it for many years. A buddy is currently on his second Blazer 16 and wouldn't even consider any other brand of boat!

I picked up my PROBE 12 II today (May 23)! I ordered it on thursday May 18, and even with 2 days off. you got it here in unbelievable time. This is my second boat from you guys. My first was a PROBE 14. It was a little too big for just me though. I had planned to have a partner but, it wasn't meant to be. So I sold that boat and had to move to another MOHAWK! Many thank's to Craig. He helped me decide on my new boat. We're going to North Georgia this weekend to try it out. I can't wait!!!!!! I will recommend MOHAWK to everyone who asks about my awesome PROBE 12 II. thanks again.

Sean McKinnon, Dallas, Georgia

Craig and staff........

I picked up my new PROBE 12 this morning. It's still in the wrapper but all seems well. I just want to thank you for such great service. I ordered it on Monday and I'll have it in the water this afternoon. that's less than 72 hrs. from order time to end use. This must be some kind of record. Again thanks for all you guys did. I' m one happy customer.

Bush Gilchrist, Montgomery, Alabama

I Just want to say that this canoe is one of the best I have ever owned. The 14ft Sport is a very versatile boat. I was worried that the R-84 wouldn't be strong enough to handle some of the rough terrain were I fish...... Two years later and about a thousand gashes, she's still goin' strong. Not a leak.
Thanks for a great product

Steve Grimes, Kentucky

Wil Cummings, Murray Kentucky
